I could not believe that he kept that little cap on his head the whole time, and didn't try to take it off, not one time. Hope you like my layout. Here's what I used:
SU Basic Black CS
Orange CS
Fancy Pants - Kraft Cuts~Pastel Hearts
Fancy Pants - Transparencies ~ Trick or Treat ~ Web Overlay

Young Love; Twisted Sketches; Antique Linen ~ November Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kit

Hi everyone, happy Friday!! Here is one of my favorite layouts yet. This is of my Mom and Dad on their Wedding Day. I also did this for this weeks sketch and challenge over at Twisted Sketches. The challenge was to use ruffles on your layout. I hope dad doesn't mind?? And I also used my Swirlydoos November ~ Antique Linen ~ Scrapbook Kit. This is actually one of my favorite kits yet. The paper is just gorgeous!! I did add in a few paper flowers, thickers and ribbon. The journaling on the back reads:

Young Love,
Who could have imagined that one young man, Eldon ****, who just turned 21, and was from ****, Oklahoma, and one young lady, Lola ****, who was 16 but just 2 months from her 17th Birthday, and who was from Missouri, but visiting her older brother Earl and his wife, Norma, in ****, Oklahoma, would meet, fall in love and get married on October 5, 1950. And from their love, they would have
4 wonderful children (including me!),
12 beautiful grandchildren, and
17 beautiful great-grandchildren and more are on the way!!
This has truly been a love affair that has lasted throughout the years and is still going strong..
Mom and Dad, we love you very much!!

Thinking of You Card

Hello everyone!! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is just 2 days from now, and that means that Christmas is just about a month away!! It seems like the older we get the faster the days go by.. I'm a little more excited about Thanksgiving this year because my daughter asked me if we could have a Turducken. I said "A WHAT", and so she explained to me what it was, so I got online and ordered it out of Louisiana. It's a de-boned Turkey, Duck and Chicken with Cajun dressing between the layers, and then put back together to look like a turkey. Wow, can't wait to try this "thing" out.
Okay now about this card. I am sending this to my sweet, sweet Sister In Law and her husband. This would be my husbands sister, Karen, and her husband. Karen has had to deal with something I hope no mother has to deal with. Four years ago this month she lost her middle child (oldest son, Clay), in a work accident. It has been so hard for her to go on with her life, and now, almost to the day, 4 years later, her Sister In Law lost her battle with cancer. She was only 48 and a beautiful person. I actually went to school with her and even though she was 3 years younger then I am, when you live in a small farm town, everybody knows everybody and their family. Her funeral was Saturday, the same day 4 years ago that Clay was buried. And then if that wasn't enough, in less than a week after that her husband lost an Aunt, and then one of her best friends lost their father. Both of their funerals will be tomorrow. She told me that right now she was just feeling numb.. Just going through the motions, and all of this hadn't really sunk in yet. I just pray that she remains strong through this difficult time. I just wished we lived closer so that we could be there for her... Since we don't I'm sending this card letting her know how we feel.
Here's what I used:
SU Elegant Eggplant CS and Ink
SU Lavender Lace CS and Ink
Watercolor Paper
SU Summer By The Sea Stamp Set
SU Blush Blossom Ink
SU Barely Banana Ink
SU Certainly Celery Ink
SU Old Olive Ink
SU Chocolate Chip Ink

Coltens Road Trip, Twisted Sketches

Good Monday morning everyone!! I have a new found respect for mothers who scrap with little ones. I don't see how you get anything done!! I was needed to help my DS and DDIL with the kiddos this weekend, and needless to say, I didn't even see the inside of my scrap studio until they went home yesterday around 5:oo pm. It's just not safe to let a little 1 year old loose in there. Too many "fun" items to stick in his mouth...
Friday, I worked on my Christmas cards all day. I want to surprise everyone and get these out early this year... I did get a lot done, but still need to work on them a little more.. But, I did get all of the embossing done.. yea!!!
I also started on this layout of little Colten, but still need to tweak it a little. The photos were taken at his Birthday Party a week ago. He got this little car and he loooooves it, as you can tell. Wasn't for sure what I was going to do with that little die cut car that was cut with the Silhouette SD, but while I was babysitting Colten yesterday, I got this cute picture from the back with him holding his sippy cup. But when you look at the photo I think it looks like he's holding a steering wheel. You may want to make the page larger to see that, and then just use your imagination. And I also added a portion of a photo of our drive to make it look like he's driving down the road. Wow, sometimes I even surprise myself...lol..
I used the sketch challenge over at Twisted Sketches.. Along with the sketch, we were to do some distressing. I distress the edges of the SU Chocolate Chip CS.
Hope you like it, here's what I used..
SU Chocolate Chip CS
Deja Views ~ Lace Cut Edge
My Little Shoe Box ~ Enjoy Life-Circle of Friends
SU Real Red CS & Ink
SU Summer Sun CS & Ink
SU Stripes Background Stamp
SU Canvas Background Stamp

So glad you stopped by today, and please come back again.

Amanda's Wedding ~ Bride with Brides Maids Layout, Creative Scrappers Challenge, Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kit

Hello everyone... Can you believe that it's already Wednesday.. The days are just coming tooo fast, Thanksgiving is next week!! Yikes, I'm not ready yet... I guess if I wouldn't spend all of my spare time scrapping, I might be a little more prepared. But then, that wouldn't be any fun, would it... Anyway, here is a layout I did for my DD Amanda's Wedding Album and I used the sketch from Creative Scrappers. They also challenged us to use white in the background. Well, SU Very Vanilla is as close as I could come to that part of the challenge. I hope that's okay? And I used some bling from my past Swirlydoos Kits. Here's what I used:
SU Bravo Burgundy CS ~ I distressed the edges,
next is SU Very Vanilla CS ~ distressed the edges, then I used a Crafters Workshop 12 x 12 Template (Orchid) and sponged over it with SU Bravo Burgundy and SU Purely Pomegranate Inks. I really like the affect I got with that.
For the circle I used Mulberry Paper in Burgundy
Next is a strip of DCWV Once Upon a Time ~ Botanical Script DP ~ distressed the edges and sponged with SU Bravo Burgundy, SU Close to Cocoa and SU Purely Pomegranate Inks.
Added the photo and the lace next. (Lace from Swirlydoos)
The black heart circle is cut with the Silhouette SD out of SU Basic Black CS.
Prima Say It In Crystals
Prima Flutter Vine (Swirlydoos)
Prima Camelot Roses Vanessa sponged with SU Purely Pomegranate Ink. (Roses from Swirlydoos)
Pearl center metal flowers (Swirlydoos)
I hope you like what you see, thanks so much for taking the time to look, and please come back any time.

Rick's 1954 Ford NAA Jubilee Scrapbook Layout , Scrap and Stamp

Good Monday morning everyone!! We're getting a little cool front and some more rain, here in Texas, but still it's going to reach the 60's. All in all a very nice fall day.. Actually it would be a perfect day to scrap, but then I think everyday is a perfect day to scrap. I made this layout using the Scrap and Stamp Challenge. We were to scrap our spouse or significant other. Man, was that a hard one for me. But it made by DH excited, because he has been trying to get me to start back up on his Tractor Album..(boring) lol.. My DH Rick loves to restore tractors and he has 3 more that are in different stages. All are running, and 2 just need the final paint job, and the Oliver, he said he's not planning to do much to it at this time. (We'll see) . I chose to scrap the little 1954 Ford NAA Jubilee. This little tractor has been a life saver here on our little acreage.. It was the first tractor he bought and he has gotten his money out of this little jewel. Okay enough about tractor talk, here's what I used. Hope you like it...
SU Basic Black CS
Basic Grey ~ Infuse - Steep, stamped the edges with SU Flannel Plaid BG Stamp in SU Basic Brown Ink. Distressed the edges and used Tim Holtz -Walnut Stain, SU Chocolate Chip Ink
I used the backside of Kraft Kuts ~ Fancy Pants Designs - Bracket Trees ~ Distressed the edges~ and used Tim Holtz-Walnut Stain and SU Close to Cocoa Ink.
Rolled SU Jumbo Wheel-Rough Texture on this layer, but you can't see that since I added the Black Crystals.
Layered The Paper Studio~Burlap next, cut it out about 1/4 of an inch smaller than the Kraft Kuts layer. I distressed this as well and used SU Close to Cocoa ink.
Added QuicKutz-Flourish in SU Chocolate Chip CS
Avery Dennison - Fasson Stick on Letters
Provo Craft-Borders & Corners
Black Crystals
Journaling was done on the computer, printed on SU Kraft CS and layered on SU Real Red CS.

Lighting the Unity Candle, Amanda's Wedding, Stuck On U Sketches, Frosted Designs

Hello everyone... It was a beautiful day here in Texas today. I got to scrap most of the day and I looooved it. The new sketch came up on Stuck On U Sketches and so I had to give it a try. The challenge over at Frosted Designs is to use a lot of bling. Well, that should be very easy for me... lol. I also needed to do another sketch for DD Amanda's Wedding Album. You know, Christmas is just around the corner. So I decided to combine both and this is what I came up with. Hope you like it..
I used SU Burgundy CS, distressed the edges, and then layered a piece of Basic Grey Laser Cut Doily over that. Sponged the edges with SU Bravo Burgundy Ink.
I cut two (2) large frames with the Silhouette SD to lay over the photo ~ 1 - SU Basic Black CS and 1- SU Rose Red CS. Also cut swirls out of SU Basic Black CS with the Silhouette SD. The small picture is punched out with the Marvy Oval Punch and then layered on SU Rose Red DSP and SU Basic Black CS. Added little prima flowers with sugar coated brad centers, and the large flower is a Prima ~ Fiesta Flower. Added black jewels around the large photo. I typed the journaling on the computer and then printed it on Vellum~Marble White and then layered it on SU Rose Red DSP. Added Say It In Crystals ~ pink, all around the page.
Thanks so much for stopping by and please come back again...
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Savannah -Halloween 2009, Stuck On U Sketches

Good Thursday morning everyone. Whooo hoo it's Friday for me!!
Here's a layout I did of little GD Savannah on Halloween. Not surprisingly she wanted to be a Fairy Princess. I think if her mother would let her she would play dress up everyday, all day long...lol This is also for the sketch layout over at Stuck On U Sketches. I just found this site and this is the first time for me to play, but they have some awesome layouts and tutorials. Check 'em out!!
Here's what I did on this layout, I hope you like it:
The background paper is from My Mind's Eye called Deena's Penny Lane. I distressed the edges and then sponged SU Lovely Lilac, SU Lavender Lace, Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Milled Lavender.
The circle, which you can't see very well is cut from Prima Marketing - Indeed Collection ~ Delighted.
Used Hambly Screen Prints ~ Old Lace along the edge (which was from one of my Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kits), and covered the journaling block with a screen print. (Sorry I don't have a manufacturer on this one)
Fence was from one of my Swirlydoos Scrapbook Kits, sponged with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink ~ Tea Dye and Walnut Stain.
Cut "Halloween" out with the silhouette SD from cs in stash..
Thickers ~ Rain boots
Stickers
Prima Say it with Crystals

Merry Christmas, Creative Belli Challenge, Creative Cuts and More,

Hi everyone, Happy Veterans' Day!! This is also a special day in our family, DD son Levi, and little GS Coltens Birthday is today. AND it's Wednesday, so that means that it's another Creative Belli Challenge. This weeks challenge is a Christmas theme . You are to use anything to do with Christmas on your card/project, such as, stickers, ribbon, papers, stamps....(you get the picture). We also have one of my favorite sponsors this week, Creative Cuts and More provided us with some beautiful die cuts, cards, and/or 3-d projects. I just love to shop on their website, go check it out, you won't be disappointed. AND they have graciously donated a fabulous prize for one lucky winner... check it out here.......... It's the CC&M Treasured Family Recipes Kit... You can do soooo much with this kit... and it would make a wonderful gift if you could part with it!!
Okay, now for my cards. The first one I just looove. I'm a fan for velvet CS. I think it looks sooo rich and vibrant, so I chose the Oval Window Frame~Small in Tomato Velvet Paper. I layered this over the Doodlebug Beetle Black Velvet CS and then added the little sugar coated brads in each corner to help keep secure it. This is layered on Doodlebug Lily White Serenade CS. I don't know if you can see, but this is very glittery. I tried something new on the sentiment. I used a Stencil and White Embossing Icing, and then I just added puff stickers and a little bow to finish it off. I really like the way it turned out, but I will definitely have to hand deliver this card. Or just keep it myself!!
For my second card I used the Square Scallop Card ~ 5 14" Four Pane Window Card in Stardream Shimmer Metallic ~ Onyx. I love the shimmer on this card. I decided to to a little snow scene outside the window. I used the K&Company Smitten White Glitter Paper and added sticker snowflakes and my little snowman. Added a few stickles to the snowman to make him sparkle just a little bit more. The window treatment is a 3-d embellie that I covered with 7 Gypsies ~ Savannah Flock Paper ~ Stripe, and then added the beaded ribbon along the top. To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark and then embossed in China Red EP added the cute (Holiday Time) Sequin Bows and there you have it.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek. Be sure and check out all of the wonderful projects the belli girls made this week.
Have a wonderful day!!

Good morning everyone! Today is going to be just gorgeous here in Texas~ up to 82 degrees. Wish I could stay home and scrap all day, but I can't. So I better get busy -- Here is a layout I did of little GD Savannah at DD Amanda's Wedding. Savannah was 2 1/2 years old here and she is showing us her dance moves before the Wedding Reception. Oh well, we just had to work around it, and at the last minute Amanda just didn't have a Flower Girl. But everything worked out just fine!! She sure wasn't "shy" at the reception..lol I also did this for the sketch challenge over at Creative Scrappers. I hope you like it, here's what I used.

Happy Birthday Levi

Hello everyone... I can't believe it's already November... I guess all the retailers will be putting out their Christmas decorations now, and will totally skip Thanksgiving.. That makes me very sad, because between now and Thanksgiving , to me, is the most beautiful time of the year. I love the Fall here in Texas and I think it's a shame to try to skip right into winter.. So I will continue to put my Fall/Thanksgiving decorations out and try to hold off on decorating for Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving.. Oh, well, now to get off of my soapbox..lol Since it is November, I have two birthdays coming up very fast and I needed to get some birthday cards made. I made this one for DS Levi, who will be 30 this year. Oh, man do I feel old... Anyway he loves to deer hunt, (but not on mom's place) and so I came up with this card.. I'm sure he will love it.. Hope you like it, here's what I used:
Base layer ~ SU Chocolate Chip CS
Next layer ~ SU Blue Bayou CS (retired)
Next layer ~ The Paper Element - hot chocolate mocha
Decorative Corner Punch
MS Border Punch on Chocolate Chip and Blue Bayou layered
